The word boring doesn’t seem like much at first. After all, no one has ever come to any harm being called boring. 

WRONG. This word is particularly crushing. It makes the person feel invisible, and there are few things more lonely than not feeling seen. If someone calls you too abrupt for example, you can try to be more friendly. If someone calls you boring, it threatens your whole sense of self.

You’re not boring. People are just not smart enough to find you interesting.
