• Jealously is ultimately false. Say you’re jealous of someone because of their job. You might be jealous of them now, but what if six months down the line their department was under an official investigation? Your jealousy of them is wedded to specific circumstances, and circumstances change.
• Think about someone that you’re really glad is in your life. This person, if they’re far enough removed, will never experience the joy that is having that specific person in your life. If the person you’re jealous of is close enough to actually know that person, but they’re a little further out, they’ll still never experience having that person in your life the same way you do.
• Realise that the other person is human. If you’re intensely jealous of someone, it’s difficult to imagine them    ever being in a situation where someone is mean to them, or they get shouted at or sworn at in the street when they haven’t done anything wrong. But everyone goes through these types of daily annoyances, no matter how popular they are.
